Rotaractors headed out on a beautiful Saturday to pick some mandarins for the Santa Barbara County Food Bank. They have a program called Backyard Bounty where farmers will donate fruit and other produce to the Food Bank, the only problem? It’s still on the plant! We all grabbed a pair of clippers and with instructions to taste the fruit to make sure it was sweet and not too small we all wandered off on the hillside to fill crates with mandarins. In just a few hours, we filled over a dozen crates!
